Kanata Shinkai (深海 奏汰) is a character from the mobile game series Ensemble Stars!

Within the game, he is an idol and the vice captain of the superhero-themed unit RYUSEITAI (流星隊). In the unit, he is known as RYUSEI Blue. Kanata is currently a graduate from Yumenosaki Academy, which he had attended in the first game. He's a very silly guy with an affinity for the sea and all of the things in it, especially fish. He even declares himself a fish! What! hes so funny! He claims that water will revive him, and he is often soaking in fountains and ponds (fully clothed!) because of it—"puka puka ♪", as he says.

Back when he was still at Yumenosaki, during his second year—a year before the first game—Kanata was praised for his genius and "wish-granting abilities," which granted him the title of one of the "5 Eccentrics/Oddballs." Which, yeah, he's more than a little eccentric. But really, Kanata is just a simple fish-like guy. He's made happy by the small things in life, is overall carefree and easy-going, and is just sooo silly.
